Nan Jung, long devoted to international education and to raising students as “good global citizens,” recently welcomed more than eighty students and teachers from its sister school, Sakura Kokusai High School of Japan. Through music and a series of cultural workshops — spring rolls, spring couplets, Chinese knotting and paper-cutting — the two schools came to know one another's cultures, deepening understanding and friendship in a warm, lively atmosphere.
Nan Jung welcomed its guests with its signature ensembles — art drums, Chinese orchestra, wind band and harmonica — a thunderous, soaring overture to the day. Pingtung County's deputy magistrate attended on behalf of the magistrate, expressing the hope that the visitors would feel Taiwan's local culture and Pingtung's warmth, and “carry on twenty-five years of deep Taiwan–Japan friendship.”
Local dignitaries came to lend their support, and among them was Kuo Yi-heng — himself a Nan Jung alumnus, now an aide in a county councillor's office — who returned to his old school after fifteen years. The bond with Sakura, he reflected, reaches back to founder Chen Yao-huo and lives on today; “the value of education,” he said, “lies not only in textbooks, but in every meeting and exchange.”
Representing Sakura, head of year Hiromi Miura conveyed the thanks of Chairman Yuji Arai for Nan Jung's years of hospitality, recalling the two schools' twenty-five-year bond. Grade-9 student Lin Yi-fan gave a welcome address entirely in Japanese — opening with baseball, likening the exchange to a “two-way player” of experience and heart, and closing with the wish to “hit the highest, farthest home run of memories together.” As the sun set, the choir's songs — a Taiwanese folk piece and a suite from Demon Slayer — brought a tender close, and Japanese students leapt on stage to sing side by side with their Nan Jung friends, sealing both a precious memory and a promise to meet again.
国際教育に長く力を注ぎ、生徒を「優れた世界市民」に育てることをめざす南榮は先ごろ、姉妹校・日本のさくら国際高等学校から80名を超える師弟を迎えました。音楽と、春巻き・春聯書き・中国結び・切り絵といった一連の文化体験を通して、互いの文化を知り、温かく賑やかな雰囲気のなかで理解と友情を深めました。
南榮は、藝術鼓隊・国楽・管楽・ハーモニカといった看板社団の演奏で来賓を歓迎し、迫力ある響きで一日の幕を開けました。屏東県の副県長が県長に代わって出席し、訪問団が台湾の在地文化と屏東の温かさを感じ、「台日25年の深い友情を受け継いで」ほしいと述べました。
地元各界の来賓も駆けつけて交流を後押ししました。なかでも、みずから南榮国中の卒業生で、現在は県議会議員事務所の主任を務める郭奕亨さんは、15年ぶりに母校を訪れました。さくら高校との縁は創辦人・陳耀火先生の時代から今へと受け継がれているとし、「教育の価値は教科書の中だけでなく、一つひとつの出会いと交流の中にある」と語りました。
さくらを代表して学年主任の三浦広美先生が、荒井裕司理事長に代わり、長年のもてなしへの感謝を伝え、両校25年の絆を振り返りました。9年生の林奕樊さんは全編日本語で歓迎の挨拶を行い、野球の話題で始め、今回の交流を「体験」と「心」の二刀流にたとえ、「一緒に、最高で一番遠い思い出のホームランを打とう」と締めくくりました。夕暮れには、合唱団が台湾語の民謡と『鬼滅の刃』の組曲を歌い、温かな幕引きとなりました。日本の生徒たちも舞台に駆け上がって南榮の友と肩を並べて歌い、かけがえのない思い出と、再会の約束をかわしました。
국제교육에 오랫동안 힘써 온 난룽중학교는 학생들을 '훌륭한 세계시민'으로 키우는 것을 목표로 삼아 왔습니다. 최근 자매결연 학교인 일본 사쿠라 국제고등학교에서 온 80여 명의 학생과 교사를 따뜻하게 맞이했습니다. 음악 공연과 함께 춘권 만들기, 춘련 쓰기, 중국매듭, 종이공예 등 다양한 문화 체험 워크숍을 통해 두 학교는 서로의 문화를 알아가며, 따뜻하고 활기찬 분위기 속에서 이해와 우정을 깊이 다졌습니다.
난룽중학교는 예술고적대, 국악합주단, 관악합주단, 하모니카 합주단 등 대표 동아리들의 힘찬 연주로 손님들을 환영하며 하루의 막을 열었습니다. 핑둥현 현장을 대신해 참석한 부현장은 방문단이 대만의 지역 문화와 핑둥의 따뜻함을 느끼길 바란다며, "대만과 일본의 25년에 걸친 깊은 우정을 이어가자"고 말했습니다.
지역 각계 인사들도 행사를 응원하기 위해 자리를 함께했습니다. 그중에는 난룽중학교 졸업생으로 현재 현의회 의원 사무실에서 보좌관으로 일하고 있는 궈이헝 씨도 있었는데, 그는 15년 만에 모교를 다시 찾았습니다. 사쿠라 국제고등학교와의 인연은 설립자 천야오훠 선생 시대부터 오늘날까지 이어져 오고 있다며, "교육의 가치는 교과서 안에만 있는 것이 아니라, 하나하나의 만남과 교류 속에 있다"고 말했습니다.
사쿠라 국제고등학교를 대표해 학년주임 미우라 히로미 선생님이 아라이 유지 이사장을 대신해 오랜 환대에 감사의 뜻을 전하며, 두 학교의 25년 인연을 되새겼습니다. 9학년 린이판 학생은 전편 일본어로 환영사를 낭독했습니다. 야구 이야기로 말문을 열어 이번 교류를 '경험'과 '마음'을 겸비한 이도류(二刀流) 선수에 비유하고, "함께 가장 높고 멀리 나는 추억의 홈런을 치자"는 말로 마무리했습니다. 해 질 무렵에는 합창단이 대만어 민요와 '귀멸의 칼날' 모음곡을 노래하며 따뜻한 마무리를 장식했습니다. 일본 학생들도 무대 위로 뛰어올라 난룽중학교 친구들과 어깨를 나란히 하고 함께 노래하며, 소중한 추억과 재회의 약속을 나누었습니다.
