On 25 May 2026, Nan Jung held its eighth-grade English Readers' Theater contest — and this year broke new ground. Instead of the traditional format, students watched clips from classic animated films and then dubbed them in English, using their voices to bring each character's emotion and story to life.
Drawing on scenes from several films, the challenge went well beyond memorizing lines: students had to capture each character's tone, emotional turns and rhythm, balancing vocal expression, fluency and teamwork. Classes rehearsed in their spare time, and the hall rang with laughter and applause.
By stepping into the story rather than reciting it, students joined language and feeling naturally — sharpening their listening and speaking while building confidence and cooperation. Nan Jung continues to make English learning lively, hands-on and close to real life.
2026年5月25日、南榮は8年生の英語リーダーズ・シアター大会を開催し、今年は新たな試みに挑みました。従来の形式に代えて、生徒たちは名作アニメ映画の場面を見たあと英語でアフレコし、声で登場人物の感情と物語を表現しました。
複数の映画の場面を題材に、課題はセリフの暗記にとどまりません。役柄の口調や感情の起伏、リズムをとらえ、声の表現・流暢さ・チームワークを兼ね備える必要がありました。各クラスは休み時間に練習を重ね、会場は笑いと拍手に包まれました。
暗唱するのではなく物語の中へ入ることで、生徒たちは言葉と感情を自然に結びつけ、聞く力・話す力を磨きながら、自信と協調性を育みました。南榮はこれからも、英語学習を生き生きと、実践的で、生活に近いものにしていきます。
