A Talk for Parents 給家長的一場講座
At this year's parent meeting, Director Mei-lan invited the principal to give a talk for families on effective learning strategies for their children — offering all kinds of learning resources, and sharing how to prepare for the entrance exams at each stage of school.
今年的班親會，美蘭主任特別安排校長進行了一場講座，針對學校家長們分享孩子有效學習的攻略，除了提供各式學習資源外，也分享了現今各階段升學考試的準備方式。

A Word Book, Recorded Word by Word 一本逐字錄音的單字手冊
It began with the 1200-word English resource. The school's foreign teacher and English team together wrote a 1200-word study handbook, and for every single word they recorded the audio and wrote an example sentence. With the parents' association's help, every student now holds a copy — and with a weekly vocabulary check, children learn step by step, getting better and better.
從英語 1200 字的學習資源講起，我們集合了學校的外師與英語教學團隊，共同編撰了英語 1200 字學習手冊，還針對每個字進行錄音與例句撰寫，結合家長會的資源讓每個學生人手一本，加上每週的英語單字檢測，讓孩子分段學習，循序漸進，越學越好。
Section leader Qi-qin even used his information-technology skills to build a 1200-word website, so parents can sit beside their children and learn at home, with no gaps in the journey. When learning is both fun and effective, children begin to learn on their own — and lifelong learning stops being a dream and becomes a goal within reach.
另外，騏駸組長還發揮資訊專長，幫我們建構了一個英語 1200 字的網站，方便家長在家陪孩子自主學習，讓學習沒有斷層、更有樂趣。當學習有趣又有效，孩子有了成就感，就會主動學習，培養能終身學習的學習者便不是夢想，而是指日可待的目標。
