Two Goals, Two Countries
Our sixth graders recently held an international exchange with students from Him Academy Public School in India, built around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The theme focused on SDG 12 — responsible consumption and production — and SDG 13, climate action. The heart of it was the “three Rs”: reduce, reuse, recycle.
In groups, the Taiwanese students gave presentations introducing Taiwan's recycling system, and how we cut down waste by reusing things in daily life. They even showed how plastic bottles, paper, and cardboard can become useful tools or creative toys. The students from India gave individual reports on how the three Rs work in their own community.
