In the second year of our Sister School Program, our sixth graders filmed their graduation trip and set it to a song they had practiced for almost a whole year — then sent it all the way to Israel.

姐妹校計畫邁入第二年,六年級的孩子把畢業旅行拍成影片,配上練了將近一年的歌,寄到了遙遠的以色列。

Beating the Time Zones 克服時差的方法

KangLang's Ministry of Education Sister School Program has reached its second year. Alongside many live video calls, our sixth graders made a student-centered film about their graduation trip to share with a partner school in Israel. A film like this lets us share our school life and, at the same time, slip past the problem of time-zone differences.

槺榔國小執行教育部姐妹校計畫已邁入第二年。除了多場線上交流,六年級的孩子以畢業旅行為主題,錄製了一支以學生為主角的影片,分享給以色列的學校。這樣的影片不只能分享校園生活,也巧妙地化解了國際交流的時差問題。

A Song Worth a Whole Year 練了一整年的一首歌

The music deserves a special mention. For nearly a whole year, our fifth and sixth graders practiced the soundtrack — learning the English lyrics word by word and rehearsing line by line.

影片的配樂特別值得一提。為了這首歌,槺榔五、六年級的孩子練習了將近一整年,從英文歌詞逐字學起,一句一句反覆練唱。

The result is a medley that weaves the English song Children of the World together with two beloved Taiwanese Hokkien folk songs, Tiam-a-ka and Se-pak-hoo. Press play and listen along.
