Gangnan Elementary School

Gangnan Elementary opened in 1965 as a branch of Hulin National School, becoming Hsinchu City Gangnan Elementary School after the city's 1982 upgrade to provincial-city status. It sits near Hsinchu's scenic 17-kilometer coastal bikeway and a popular bird-watching area, with unique coastal wetland ecology — mangroves, fiddler crabs, mudskippers and egrets — that the school uses directly for ecological education. With about 6 classes and 120 students, Gangnan recently marked its 58th anniversary with a major renovation project that rebuilt its old campus buildings. Its attached kindergarten specializes in environmental education, extending that same outdoor-learning spirit to its youngest students.

港南國小於民國54年（1965年）以虎林國民學校分校身分設立，新竹市於1982年升格省轄市後改為現名。學校鄰近新竹17公里海岸自行車道及賞鳥勝地，擁有紅樹林、招潮蟹、彈塗魚與白鷺等獨特濱海濕地生態，並直接作為生態教育教材。目前約有6班、120名學生，並於創校58週年之際完成舊校舍拆除重建的大型整修計畫。附設幼兒園以環境教育為特色，將戶外學習精神延伸至最年幼的學生身上。
