About · 學校簡介

From a branch school to a "Happy Manor."

Dazhuang Elementary became an independent school in 1955, having previously operated as a branch of nearby Xiangshan Elementary School. It sits in what was historically the largest settlement south of the Kezaizi River, about 7 kilometers from downtown Hsinchu, and has earned the affectionate nickname "幸福庄園" — Happy Manor — reflecting its close ties to the surrounding community. The school has been designated one of Hsinchu City's official Bilingual Schools, running English-assisted activities every Wednesday morning alongside bilingual performing-arts and PE classes. It today enrolls about 677 students across 27 classes and maintains an ecological exploration garden on campus.

🦪

Xiangshan District is Hsinchu City's coastal district, long shaped by Minnan and Hakka fishing and farming traditions and fringed by tidal wetlands. Its historic "mother school," Xiangshan Elementary, was founded in 1908 through the philanthropy of a local gentry family, and this school itself began life as one of its branches. See the Hsinchu City county page for more on the region.
