Siling Elementary marks a remarkable milestone — a full century of teaching the children of the Bagua plateau. On Saturday morning, December 20, the whole community is invited back to campus for the school's anniversary and Family Day: a morning of games, performances, and reunions, where graduates, parents, and neighbors come together to celebrate one hundred years of this small mountain school.
西嶺國小迎來一個了不起的里程碑——在八卦山台地上教育孩子整整一百年。12 月 20 日（週六）上午，學校邀請全社區回到校園，一起慶祝校慶暨家庭親子日：一個充滿遊戲、表演與重逢的上午，校友、家長與鄰里齊聚一堂，共同慶賀這所山城小校的百年歲月。
Siling's lion-dance team took to the floor at the 2023 Huaguang Cup, one more chapter in a proud story. Since the team was founded in 2016, it has carried on the century-old local "Tongyi Hall Golden Lion" tradition, won the county championship in the Southern-Lion category, and even performed overseas in Kasahara, Japan and at the Nantou Lantern Festival. In their lions live the eight classic moods — joy, anger, sorrow, happiness, movement, stillness, surprise, and doubt.
西嶺舞獅隊在 2023 華光盃登場，為一段驕傲的故事再添新頁。自 2016 年成立以來，獅隊承襲在地百年「同義堂金獅陣」技藝，曾奪下南投縣閩南獅組冠軍，更遠赴日本笠原市與南投燈會演出。他們的獅頭裡，藏著「喜、怒、哀、樂、動、靜、驚、疑」八種經典神態。
Students from the New York Capital District Chinese School traveled all the way to the Bagua plateau to visit Siling — and there is no better place to make friends than over a kite. Together, the children made kites by hand and ran them up into the mountain wind, sharing language, laughter, and a craft that Siling knows better than almost any school in Taiwan.

Few elementary schools have a museum of their own — and only one in all of Taiwan has a kite museum. Opened in December 2002 and built on years of work by teacher Liu Hsi-hsun, Siling's kite hall is where science meets art: lift and wind, balance and color, the quiet teamwork of a flyer and a helper. It is the heart of a kite-making tradition that has shaped Siling for more than two decades.
很少有國小擁有自己的博物館——而全台灣，只有一所有風箏館。西嶺的風箏館於 2002 年 12 月啟用，奠基於劉錫勳老師多年的耕耘，是科學與藝術交會之處：升力與風向、平衡與色彩，以及施放者與助手之間默契的合作。它是一段形塑西嶺逾二十年的製箏傳統的核心。
Safety is a year-round lesson at Siling. Around the Tomb-Sweeping season, students learn how to prevent mountain wildfires; in winter, the school joins the national "119" fire-prevention campaign and reminds every family how to guard against carbon-monoxide poisoning. Small reminders, repeated with care, keep our children and our mountain community safe.
