Founded to close the gap in a growing suburb.
Zhuwei Senior High School opened in 1996 as Zhuwei Junior High School, created because students living in the rapidly suburbanizing Zhuwei area faced a commute of more than five kilometers to Tamsui Junior High. The school was upgraded to a complete junior-senior high school in 2012, and its 4.6-hectare campus now sits between the Zhuwei and Hongshulin MRT stations, serving a neighborhood transformed by Taipei's northern rail corridor.

🌆 Growing With the Suburbs
郊區化的見證
The school's founding reflects Zhuwei's rapid 1990s transformation from farmland into a dense residential corridor along the Tamsui River MRT line.
Growing with a commuter suburb.
Zhuwei's growth from a quiet riverside village into a commuter suburb accelerated with the opening of the Tamsui MRT line, and Zhuwei Senior High's founding is a direct product of that boom. See the New Taipei county page for more on the region.
