A young school with deep roots in Hsinchu's food heritage.
Zhuguang Junior High was officially established on January 1, 2005, admitting its first students that August — the third junior high founded in North District at the time. In its earliest days, the school had no facilities of its own and had to borrow a neighboring elementary school's auditorium for classes. It now sits on the former site of the ROC Air Force's "忠勇營區" base, in a neighborhood along Kaya Creek historically known as "米粉寮" (rice-noodle village) — the birthplace of Hsinchu's famous rice noodle industry. The school has since earned national recognition, including Teaching Excellence Awards in 2010 and 2013.
