Zhongming Senior High School was founded in 1957 as "Taichung Municipal Third Junior Middle School," one of the junior middle schools established during the city's postwar expansion of secondary education. It became a complete junior-senior high school in 2000 and adopted its current name the following year. The campus sits near the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, in the heart of West District.
忠明高中創立於民國46年(1957年),初名「臺中市立第三初級中學」,是台中市戰後普及中等教育擴張時期設立的學校之一。民國89年(2000年)改制為完全中學,翌年正式更名為現名。校址鄰近國立臺灣美術館,座落於西區市中心地帶。
