Zhonggang Elementary School was founded in 1974 in the Zhonggang neighborhood of Xinzhuang District, part of a network of small-canal place names ("港") left over from the area's agricultural past. Guided by its motto of health, liveliness, diligent study, and courtesy, the school has run a "Bridge of Reading" initiative since the 2014–15 school year, added maker education in 2017–18, and introduced a "triple innovation" (三創) curriculum in 2020–21.
中港國小創立於民國63年（1974年），位於新莊區中港地區——當地保留了農業時代遺留的港渠地名。學校秉持「健康、活潑、勤學、有禮」的校訓，自103學年度（2014–15年）起推動「閱讀之橋」計畫，106學年度（2017–18年）起發展自造教育，109學年度（2020–21年）起推行「三創」課程。
