Built for a growing district's second wave of students.
Zhengde Junior High School was formally approved in 1988 and opened its doors in 1993 with an inaugural class of 580 students, becoming Tamsui's second public junior high school as the district's population grew through the 1990s. The school also operates a second site, the Xianhao Campus, which began in 1971 as a branch of Tamsui Junior High, became independent in 1975, and was merged into Zhengde in 1994.

因應人口成長而生
The school's founding responded directly to 1990s population growth in Tamsui that outgrew the capacity of the historic Tamsui Junior High.
A turning point in Tamsui's growth.
Zhengde's founding marks a turning point in Tamsui's modern growth — as the old port town's population swelled through the 1990s, this was the first new junior high built to serve it. See the New Taipei county page for more on the region.
