Wenguang Elementary was founded on April 10, 1922, making it one of the oldest schools in Kouhu Township with over a century of history. Beyond its main campus, Wenguang operates two branch campuses — the Hukou Branch and the Guogang Branch — extending its reach into outlying coastal communities that would otherwise be a long walk from any school.
文光國小創校於民國11年（1922年）4月10日，是口湖鄉歷史最悠久的學校之一，已有百年以上校史。除本校外，文光國小另設有湖口分校與過港分校兩所分校，將教育資源延伸至偏遠的沿海聚落。
