The newest school in a growing township.
Yixue Elementary is the newest of Taishan's public schools, founded in 2005 to serve the district's continued residential growth. Like its neighboring junior high, the school's name commemorates Hu Zhuoyou, the Qing-dynasty benefactor whose donation of land and tuition funds helped found the nearby Mingzhi Academy for poor children's education. The school today enrolls around 1,450 students across roughly 55 classes.
