Xizhi Junior High School

Xizhi Junior High traces its origins to 1920, when it began as a two-year advanced program attached to Mizugaeshi (水返腳) Public School, under Japanese colonial administration. It was reorganized as an independent junior high school, 汐止初級中學, in 1946, the year after Taiwan's retrocession. Its name preserves Xizhi's historic toponym 水返腳 — "where the tide turns back" — a reference to how far up the Keelung River the ocean tide once reached. Today the school is known locally for strong baseball, archery, and basketball programs.

汐止國中校史可追溯至日治時期民國9年（1920年），前身為水返腳公學校附設的兩年制高等科。台灣光復後翌年，民國35年（1946年），改制獨立為「汐止初級中學」。校名保留了汐止的舊地名「水返腳」，意指基隆河潮汐可上溯至此的自然現象。如今學校以棒球、射箭、籃球等體育項目聞名於地方。
