Xizhi Elementary School

Xizhi Elementary School traces its history back to 1898, when it opened as a branch classroom of the Keelung Japanese-Language Training Institute serving the Mizugaeshi (水返腳) area — Xizhi's old name, referring to the point where the Keelung River's tide turns back. It was renamed Xizhi Public School in 1920. Over more than 126 years, the school has anchored Xizhi's emergence as an early education hub in northern Taiwan, and counts former President Lee Teng-hui among its alumni. Its baseball team won a national championship in 2007 and placed third at the Pony League Little League World Series.

汐止國小校史可追溯至民國前14年（1898年），前身為基隆國語傳習所水返腳分教場——「水返腳」正是汐止的舊稱，意指基隆河潮汐上溯至此後回頭的地點。民國9年（1920年）更名為「汐止公學校」。逾126年的校史中，該校奠定了汐止作為北台灣早期教育重鎮的地位，前總統李登輝先生亦曾是該校校友。學校棒球隊曾於民國96年（2007年）榮獲全國冠軍，並在世界少棒聯盟青少棒世界大賽中獲得第三名。
