Xiwei Elementary School traces its origins to 1945, when it operated as a branch classroom of Kali Elementary School. It became fully independent in 1954. Today it holds a distinctive geographic status as the only elementary school in Wuri District situated on the south bank of the Wu River, setting it apart from the district's other schools clustered north of the waterway.
