A postwar school built by its own community.

Xinzhuang Junior High School traces its founding to 1946, when it opened as Xinzhuang Junior Middle School on a site that had previously housed a Japanese-era elementary school for Japanese settlers. Local residents donated land and funds between 1949 and 1952 to help establish the school on firmer footing. It briefly became a complete secondary school in 1953 before losing its senior-high division in 1968, and today stands as the oldest junior high in Xinzhuang.
