A brand-new school named by its own community.

Xinke Junior High School's preparatory office was established on June 9, 2004, opening shortly after as one of three schools founded simultaneously under a single municipal initiative that year. It is one of Hsinchu's newest junior highs. The school initially borrowed classrooms from Guandong Elementary School to begin enrollment, starting with just 3 classes and 96 students, and has since grown to 24 classes and 636 students. Notably, its name was chosen through direct negotiation with local residents — who rejected the planners' original proposed name, "Keyuan" — reflecting community input in shaping the school. Xinke is known as the city's first bilingual-experimental junior high school.
