Xinghua Elementary School began in August 1959 as a branch of Erlin Elementary School, opening on 5,670 square meters of land with five classes. It became an independent school in September 1963 under its first principal, Xie Haitu. By 1965 the campus had expanded to 14,150 square meters, and the school marked its 50th anniversary in 2013.
興華國小創立於民國48年（1959年）8月，最初是二林國小的分校，校地5,670平方公尺，設有5個班級。民國52年（1963年）9月獨立設校，首任校長為謝海圖。至民國54年（1965年），校地已擴展至14,150平方公尺，並於民國102年（2013年）舉辦建校五十週年慶祝活動。
