Xiehe Elementary School traces its roots to a branch classroom established in 1959, becoming an independent school in 1963. It is one of Xitun's older neighborhood schools, historically tied to the Xiehe Village (協和里) community that later also lent its name to nearby Anhe Junior High. The school marked its 60th anniversary in recent years.
協和國小源自民國48年（1959年）成立的分班，民國52年（1963年）獨立設校，是西屯區歷史較久的社區學校之一，與協和里社區關係深厚——附近的安和國中校名也取自此里名的一部分。學校近年舉辦了創校六十週年慶祝活動。
