Zhonghe's first junior high.
Zhonghe Junior High School began in 1955 as a branch campus, becoming an independent junior high in 1963 and taking its current name, Zhonghe National Junior High School, in 1968. It was the first junior high school established in the historic Zhonghe township core, growing directly out of the lineage of the century-old Zhonghe Elementary School. The school added an art-gifted class in 2002 and a physical-education class in 2017.
中和國中前身為民國44年（1955年）設立之分校，民國52年（1963年）獨立設校，民國57年（1968年）定名為中和國民中學。這是中和地區歷史核心設立的第一所國中，直接承襲百年老校中和國小的辦學脈絡。學校於民國91年（2002年）增設美術資優班，民國106年（2017年）增設體育班。
