Zhonghe Elementary School

Zhonghe Elementary School traces its roots to 1908, when it opened as a branch of Bangliao Public School under Japanese colonial rule. It became an independent school in 1912 as Zhanghe Public School (漳和公學校), and took the name Zhonghe National School in 1946. As Zhonghe's first and oldest school, it once enrolled more than 7,400 students — so many that it became the "mother school" that spun off Jisui, Xingnan, Xiushan, Jingxin, Fuxing, Jinhe, and Yonghe elementary schools as the district's population grew. Its century-long history traces Zhonghe's transformation from a rural hamlet under Japanese rule into one of Taiwan's most densely populated urban districts.

中和國小的歷史可追溯至1908年（日治時期），最初為枋寮公學校的分校。1912年獨立設校，命名為漳和公學校，1946年更名為中和國民學校。作為中和地區歷史最悠久的學校，全盛時期學生人數曾超過7,400人，是名副其實的「母校」，隨著地區人口成長，陸續分設出積穗、興南、秀山、景新、復興、錦和與永和等多所國小。這所學校橫跨百年的歷史，見證了中和從日治時期的鄉村聚落發展為台灣人口密度最高都會區之一的歷程。
