Xintai Elementary was formally approved on August 1, 1989, under its first principal, Chen Fangfei. Its site was ceded by neighboring Sixian Elementary to meet growing demand in the area, and the principal of nearby Guotai Elementary served as preparatory director while the new school was being organized. Its name, blending characters from "Xin(zhuang)" and "(Tai)shan," reflects its location near the boundary between Xinzhuang and the neighboring Taishan District.
新泰國小於民國78年（1989年）8月1日奉准成立，首任校長為陳芳霏。校地由鄰近的思賢國小撥用，籌備期間由國泰國小校長兼任籌備主任。校名取「新（莊）」與「（泰）山」二字，反映其位於新莊與泰山交界地帶的地理位置。
