Xinpu Junior High School was founded in 1985 in the Xinpu neighborhood of Banqiao. The school added a gifted art program in 1990 and a gifted dance program in 1994, building a strong arts-education identity over the following decades. It was formally renamed a municipal school in December 2010.
新埔國中創立於民國74年（1985年），位於板橋新埔地區。學校於民國79年（1990年）增設美術資優班，民國83年（1994年）增設舞蹈資優班，逐步建立起藝術教育特色。民國99年（2010年）12月改制為市立學校。
