Over a century as a mother school.
Xingren Elementary School opened on March 31, 1916, during the Japanese colonial era, as the "Xinghuadian Branch" of Tamsui Public School — making it more than a century old. Over the decades, Xingren operated its own branch campuses that later became independent schools in their own right: Tunshan Elementary School in 1952 and Zhongshan (忠山) Experimental Elementary School in 1957, making Xingren a "mother school" for several of Tamsui's rural hill-country schools.

🏘️ Named for an Old Settlement
因興化店得名
The school's name preserves the old place-name "Xinghuadian," tying it to an early Hoklo settler community in inland Tamsui.
Named for an old settler community.
The place-name "Xinghuadian" behind Xingren's original name traces to an early Hoklo settler community from Xinghua, Fujian, one of the inland farming settlements that predate Tamsui's growth into a major port town. See the New Taipei county page for more on the region.
