Xingnan Elementary School was founded in 1956 as a branch of Zhonghe Elementary School, part of a mid-1950s wave of school-splitting as Zhonghe's student population outgrew its mother school. Today the school offers calligraphy education and environmental-education programs alongside its standard curriculum.
