The root of Wugu's school system.
Wugu Elementary opened in 1921 as Taipei Prefecture Wugu Common School, making it the oldest and founding school of the entire district. Its branch classrooms at Chengziliao and Gengliao later grew into today's independent Chengzhou and Gengliao Elementary Schools — meaning three of Wugu's current schools all trace back to this single root institution. Set near Guanyin Mountain, the school embodies the district's development from a single Japanese-era rural school into today's multi-school educational network.
