Wufeng Junior High traces its roots to 1955, when it operated as a joint branch of Taipei First Girls' High School, before being formally established as an independent junior high in 1968. Its name — "Five Peaks" — refers to the hills that ring Xindian's mountainous, river-valley terrain. The school built a strong academic reputation in the 2000s, producing students who scored perfect marks on the national Basic Competency Test three years in a row, from 2004 to 2006, under a school motto of "honesty, diligence, and frugality" (誠實勤儉).
五峰國中的歷史可追溯至民國44年（1955年），當時作為北一女中的聯合分部，民國57年（1968年）正式獨立設校，定名五峰國中。校名取自環繞新店山谷地形的五座山峰。民國93至95年（2004至2006年）間，學校連續三年出現國中基本學力測驗滿分學生，展現優異的學業表現，校訓為「誠實勤儉」。
