Built to ease a baby-boom squeeze.
Renai Elementary was approved in 1988 and opened its first classes in 1991, becoming Luzhou's fourth elementary school. It was established specifically to ease double-shift overcrowding at Lujiang Elementary School, whose classrooms could no longer keep pace with the district's postwar baby-boom growth. The school's founding story is a direct record of the population pressure that urbanizing Luzhou placed on its school infrastructure through the late 1980s.

🏘️ A Marker of Luzhou's Urbanization
蘆洲都市化的見證
Renai's late-1980s founding tracks the moment Luzhou shifted decisively from a rural township into a dense residential suburb of Taipei.
A generation of growth, one classroom at a time.
Renai Elementary's founding story illustrates the postwar baby-boom pressure on Luzhou's school infrastructure as the township urbanized — a pattern shared by several of the district's newer schools, each carved out to relieve an older neighbor's overcrowded classrooms. See the New Taipei county page for more on the region.
