The clear-water community that gave its name to a district.
Qingshui Elementary originated in 1921 as a branch classroom of Tucheng Public School, becoming an independent school in 1943 during the final years of the Japanese colonial era. Named for the “clear water” stream area (清水坑) that gave this corner of Tucheng its identity, the school today runs bilingual-education initiatives and a string orchestra program, and served as the original namesake community for the later Qingshui Junior and Senior High School.
