Founded after the floodway, and known for its diamond.
Erchong Junior High School was approved by Taipei County as the county's sixth junior high in October 1992, and its main building was completed and dedicated in November 1997. The school follows the motto "moral education first, all-round development" (德育為重,五育並進), and it stands out among New Taipei junior highs as one of the few with its own baseball team — fielding both hardball and softball squads drawn from its physical-education class — alongside an active choir program.

📖 A Guiding Motto
The school's motto — "moral education first, all-round development" — sets the tone for a balance between character education and academics.
Shaped by the Second Floodway.
The school was built to serve the Erchongpu (二重埔) area after completion of the Second Floodway (二重疏洪道), a name and location tied directly to Sanchong's historic flood-control geography along the Tamsui River. See the New Taipei county page for more on the region.
