A new campus with a shared heritage name.
Anxi Elementary's land acquisition began in 1988, handled by nearby Chengfu Elementary School. The school initially borrowed classrooms at Sanxia Elementary before moving into its own permanent campus on Zhonghua Road in 1991, opening formally in 1989. Like Anxi Junior High, the school shares its name with Anxi County in Fujian Province, honoring the ancestral homeland of most of Sanxia's early Han Chinese settlers.

Honoring the settlers' ancestral homeland.
Like its junior-high counterpart, Anxi Elementary takes its name from Anxi County, Fujian, honoring the ancestry of most of Sanxia's early Han Chinese settlers, who brought tea-farming traditions across the Taiwan Strait. See the New Taipei county page for more on the region.
