Wende Elementary was established around 1989, part of a wave of schools built with Confucian-virtue names — 文德 means "culture and virtue" — as Banqiao rapidly expanded its elementary-school network into new postwar neighborhoods. Today it is one of the district's largest schools, with roughly 2,430 students, a concert/brass band founded in 2004, an ecological garden, and an evening supplementary school.
文德國小創校於約民國78年（1989年）前後，是板橋為因應戰後新社區快速發展而興建的一批「儒家美德」命名學校之一——「文德」即取「文化與德行」之意。學校現為板橋規模最大的國小之一，學生數約2,430人，設有成立於2004年的管樂團與生態園區，並附設補校。
