From branch class to neighborhood school.
Wenchang Elementary traces its roots to September 1, 1952, when it began as a branch class of Guanyu Elementary School in Zhenping Village. It was upgraded to a branch school in 1956, and became a fully independent school in 1959 under founding principal Li Renchun, taking the name Wenchang National School. It adopted its current elementary-school designation in 1968, as part of Taiwan's nine-year compulsory education reform.

🏫 Seven Decades of Growth
歷經數次更名
From a single branch class in 1952 to an independent school with its current name since 1968, Wenchang has grown alongside Fuxing Township for over 70 years.
Fuxing's watermelon country.
Wenchang sits near Sanhe Village (三和村) in Fuxing Township, an area long known for growing watermelons. The school's watermelon-shaped slide and planned student farm plot both tie its everyday campus life back to this local agricultural identity. See the Changhua county page for more on the region.
