The district's original school.
Wanli Elementary School dates to around 1913, when it opened as Malian (瑪鋉) Public School during the Japanese colonial era — a name preserving Wanli's pre-1920s toponym, before Japanese administrators renamed the area "Wanli." As the district's oldest and largest elementary school, it is the original "root" institution from which other Wanli-area schools branched off — including Daping Elementary, which split away from it in 1922.
