Zhongshan Junior High began in 1980 as a branch campus of Zhongming Junior High before becoming an independent school in 1983. The school has built a nationally competitive baseball program — its team has won the Little League World Series' 40th International Division championship — and counts professional baseball players among its alumni.
中山國中於民國69年（1980年）以中明國中分校形式成立，民國72年（1983年）獨立設校。學校棒球隊表現優異，曾獲得美國小馬聯盟世界大賽（Little League World Series）第40屆國際組冠軍，也培養出多位職棒選手。
