From 'Dongshi Corner' to a modern curriculum.
Zhongshan Elementary opened in 1916 under Japanese rule as one of the original schools serving "Dongshi Corner" (東勢角), the historic core of what would become today's timber-trading hill town. Its four-story building was totally destroyed in the 1999 921 earthquake, forcing a full rebuild. Now well over a century old, the school has moved firmly into the present with a curriculum that includes AI, robotics, and 3D-printing instruction.
