Yangming Elementary became an independent school in 1959, splitting off from the Xiushan branch of Daya Elementary School. With around 10 classes, it remains one of the smaller rural schools in Daya District, serving the village of Xiushan near the Central Taiwan Science Park and Ching Chuan Kang air base.
