Xinshe Elementary opened in 1899 as "Xinshe Public School," making it well over 125 years old and the founding school of the entire district. In 1925, the school hosted Xinshe's first agricultural supplementary program — a small vocational offering that would eventually grow, over the following decades, into today's independent Xinshe Senior High School.
