A colonial-era school on the Dali River.
Tucheng Elementary traces its origins to 1919, when it began as a Japanese-language training institute during the colonial era, becoming an independent school in 1929. The campus sits on the bank of the Dali River within the historic "Da-Tucheng" cultural area. It was completely destroyed in the 1999 921 earthquake and rebuilt with support from the Tzu Chi Foundation.
