Nanxing Elementary School is opening alongside its sister school, Nanxing Junior High School, for Taichung's 115 academic year (fall 2026). The campus covers roughly 3.5 hectares near Nanxing Park, with a construction budget of approximately NT$403.2 million, and shares the same water-feature and green-space design concept as its sister school. Like Nanxing Junior High, its site sits on former Taichung Railway Depot (台中機廠) land, marking Beitun's shift from a rail and industrial zone into new housing and schools. Because the school has not yet opened, its preparatory office is currently housed at nearby Sanguang Junior High School, and no official school website exists yet.
南興國小與姊妹校南興國中同步興建，預計於臺中市115學年度（2026年秋季）開學。校地約3.5公頃，鄰近南興公園，工程經費約新臺幣4億320萬元，與姊妹校共享相同的水景與綠地設計理念。與南興國中相同，校址也位於原「台中機廠」用地上，象徵北屯區由鐵路工業用地轉型為新興住宅與學校用地。由於學校尚未正式開學，籌備處目前設於鄰近的三光國中，尚無官方網站。
