A long-standing school at the mountain's edge.
Jiangong Elementary opened as a branch school in 1958 and became independent the following year, 1959. Sitting at the foot of the Dakeng hills, it has grown over the decades into a mid-sized school of roughly 49 classes and more than 1,300 students. Its guiding motto — diligence, simplicity, filial piety, respect, and loyalty — reflects the school's rural, farming-village origins, even as the surrounding area has urbanized.

Farming roots beneath the hills.
Located at the base of Beitun's Dakeng foothills, the school's long history reflects the area's rural farming-village roots before the surrounding neighborhoods urbanized into today's residential Beitun District. See the Taichung county page for more on the region.
