Daxin Elementary opened in 1998 as Nantun District's population surged during the urbanization of the 5th and 7th Redevelopment Zones around the old Litoudian town center. The school grew quickly into one of the largest elementary schools in Taichung by enrollment, reportedly the third-largest citywide.
