Dalin Elementary was founded in 1945, at the very close of the Japanese colonial era, and became fully independent as "Dalin Elementary" in 1950. Its own branch campus in the Zhonghe area later split off in 1956 to become the independent Zhonghe Elementary. Today the school sits amid the mountainside orchards of Fuxing village, in the heart of Xinshe's fruit-growing countryside.
大林國小創立於民國34年（1945年），正值日治時期末期，於民國39年（1950年）正式獨立設校，定名「大林國小」。其設於中和地區的分班，後於民國45年（1956年）獨立成為今日的中和國小。學校座落於福興里的山區果園之間，位處新社果樹種植的核心地帶。
