Dali Senior High traces its roots to 1967, when it began as a branch of Wuqi Junior High School serving the Dali area — a period when it had to borrow classroom space from the older Dali Elementary School nearby. A senior high division was added in 2001, making it a complete junior-and-senior high school. The campus was severely damaged in the 1999 921 earthquake and rebuilt with support from the Tzu Chi Foundation, and today includes a Ministry-certified 400-meter competition track.
大里高中源於民國56年（1967年）設立的「霧峰國中大里分部」，草創初期曾向鄰近的大里國小借用教室上課。民國90年（2001年）增設高中部，成為兼辦國中部與高中部的完全中學。校舍於1999年921大地震中嚴重受損，後在慈濟基金會協助下重建，現設有教育部認證的400公尺標準運動場。
