Tanzi Elementary was established in 1909, during the Japanese colonial era, as the "Hulunton Public School Tanzikou Branch." More than a century later, it remains Tanzi District's oldest school. Its Japanese-style school building has since been registered as a historic building by Taichung City, giving the campus a rare architectural link to the district's early 20th-century agricultural past.
潭子國小創立於1909年（日治時期），前身為「葫蘆墩公學校潭子口分校」。歷經百餘年，至今仍是潭子區歷史最悠久的學校。其日式校舍已被登錄為台中市定歷史建築，讓校園留有一份珍貴的建築見證，連結著潭子區二十世紀初的農業歲月。
