Zhonghua Elementary School was established in 1992 on the site of a former public cemetery in the Fengnian community of Zhongshan Village, reflecting Taiping District's postwar residential expansion. The school set up a central kitchen in 1997 and was recognized as an early ‘informatics seed school’ in 2003. In 2012 it launched a dedicated soccer class, whose students went on to compete in Australia's Kangaroo Cup.
中華國小創立於民國81年（1992年），校地原為公墓用地，位於中山里的豐年社區，反映了太平區戰後住宅擴張的發展軌跡。學校於民國86年（1997年）設立中央廚房，並於民國92年（2003年）獲選為早期的「資訊種子學校」。民國101年（2012年）成立足球專班，學生曾遠赴澳洲參加袋鼠盃足球賽。
