Built in stages, named for old farmland.
Sizhangli Junior High School was founded in 1997 and built in two construction phases completed in 1999 and 2000. The school later added an activity center in 2004 and a new lunch kitchen in 2011, steadily expanding its facilities over its first decade and a half. Its name comes from Sizhangli (四張犁), a historic place-name in Beitun referring to old Qing-era land-measurement units — literally "four ploughs" of farmland — tracing the area's roots as an early Han-Chinese agricultural settlement.
